The innovative adapter enables manual laser welding machines to be upgraded to powerful twin-wire mode - without the need for complex conversions or additional control units. Connecting a second wire feeder opens up new application possibilities for automated or manual laser welding with increased deposition rates and process reliability.
Functionality
The adapter module is integrated between the hand-held laser welder and the two wire feeders. It synchronises the control of both wire feeders and integrates them seamlessly into the existing operating logic of the welding machine. The entire operation - start/stop, wire feed speed and process monitoring - is still carried out directly via the hand-held unit. No additional user interface is required.
Application benefits
The double wire mode significantly increases the deposition rate, resulting in shorter welding times and a higher material input. This is particularly advantageous for applications with larger joint volumes, wider gaps to be welded, multi-layer seams or materials that require high welding speeds. Double-wire operation also offers clear efficiency advantages in the field of repair and build-up welding.
