Only tested products offer the necessary protection and should be classified and certified as such by qualified organisations.

The Bavarian Laser Centre (BLZ), for example, is one such institution and has been operating a test laboratory for laser safety products for over twenty years. Since its foundation, many thousands of laser exposure tests have been carried out in this laboratory, including on laser safety eyewear. The BLZ goes even further, because in addition to certification tests, new materials are also tested during development in order to further optimise the protective effect of the products.
